Little Kidds

Life with the Littles, starring Zack.

Wednesday, September 01, 2004

It's been awhile since I posted here. Not for lack of things to say, believe me.

Zack has had a glorious summer, entertaining visitors at Casa Little and visiting "Grandpa Jim and Lisa" in Jackson Hole. He had one traumatic experience with a freak thunderstorm that blew through our neighborhood one afternoon. If you ask him about it he will reinact it in vivid physical detail.

Today Zack whacked Emma on the back with his garden hoe. Lovely. She didn't even flinch. She's so great. The hoe is now in "time out."

Zack has fewer isolated gems of wisdom now. It's more like a constant stream from the minute he wakes up to the minute he goes to bed at night. The first thing out of his mouth almost every morning is, "It's a beautiful day!" (said with all the enthusiasm of June Cleaver at a tupperware party.) Though it's hard to remember all of the funny things he says now, here's one recent favorite story.

We had just completed our basement remodel and moved Zack's toys down there. Zack was particularly sticky with something (diaper... jelly... play-doh... I can't remember the exact substance). I suggested we go get cleaned up so we wouldn't goop up the new carpet. Zack replied "Oh yeah! That would make Tom SO sad." Tom was the name of our general contractor and was also the first name of almost ALL of the subcontractors.

Stay tuned for more...
