Signs of Spring


We came home Sunday after spending a week in Jackson Hole. There the snow was three feet deep in the yard. Here the daffodils are blooming.

This is a miraculous time of the year. The air smells clean and new. The world comes back into color. The Daphne and Camelia are flourishing. The new grass is vibrant. The cherry blossoms are like snow petals. The sun is starting to shine again.

This is the time of year when Zack was born. He will be six on Friday. In my mind the celebration of his life will always be intertwined with the celebration of new life springing from the earth all around us.
